Kelly Ripa can’t be trusted!
After promising her 22-year-old daughter, Lola, that she wouldn’t show her face on Tuesday’s episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” the talk show host went back on her word.
When her husband, Mark Consuelos, was discussing a time he lied to his dad, Ripa asked, “What would you have done if your kids [did that]?”
The “Riverdale” alum said Lola and her brothers, Michael, 26, and Joaquin, 20, could never because he “knows[s] the answers to the questions before” asking them.
“I would have played it out,” Consuelos, 52, said. “I would have reeled them in.”
Ripa, 53, interrupted her co-host to look to the audience and ask, “Are you learning this? Are you listening?”
The “Live Wire” author was speaking to Lola, who she admitted didn’t “want to be seen on camera” despite the lens “looking at her” anyway.
The New York University grad was a good sport, however, answering her dad’s questions about whether he “was a very good interrogator.”
She was all smiles sitting bare-faced in the crowd, sporting a striped shirt.
After panning over to her daughter a few times, Ripa told viewers, “She literally said to me, ‘If I sit in the audience, you’re not gonna put me on camera, right?’ [I said], ‘I swear. I promise I won’t, Lola.'”
Consuelos, upon hearing this, apologized to their child with a laugh.
Ripa sarcastically added, “That’s not our daughter, Lola. That’s a different Lola. That’s a friend of hers also named Lola.”
Although Lola rarely makes appearances on her parents’ show, the duo often share stories about the budding singer on air.
They also give glimpses of her on social media, recently posting family photos from a tropical vacation.
Additionally, Ripa told her “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast listeners in August that Lola once walked in on her and Consuelos having sex.
“At a certain point, I made eye contact with my 8-year-old daughter who is standing at the foot of the bed,” the former soap star recalled, noting that her husband disappeared and could have been “hanging from the ceiling” for all she knew.
“The same thing happened eight years later on her 16th birthday,” she continued at the time. “Same exact thing. She threw the door open. … Hopefully, by the time she turns 24, we’ll be done having sex.”
Ripa and Consuelos have been married since May 1996, celebrating their 27th anniversary this year.
