Meghan Markle stopped for a selfie with fans while out and about in California last week.
Entertainment journalist Jen Su posted the photo of herself smiling beside two friends and the Duchess of Sussex on Instagram Thursday.
“Arrived in L.A. and ran right into the fabulous Meghan Markle,” Su captioned the post. “Amazing way to start the trip!”
Markle, 42, was seen wearing a striped linen shirt by Polo Ralph Lauren and Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses during the impromptu run-in with the group of friends on a “girls’ night out.”
In another post, Su described the royal as “totally low key” and “super friendly” and shared that they had a “nice conversation.”
The reporter’s friend Melissa Leonard also posted the selfie to her Instagram account with the location tagged as the Beverly Hills Hotel.
It’s unclear whether Markle was staying at the lavish hotel, which is “famous for playing host and friend to Hollywood royalty for over a century,” its website boasts.
The former “Suits” star appeared to be out without her husband, Prince Harry.
Markle, Harry, 39, and their two kids, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, reside in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, Calif., which is located about two hours away from Beverly Hills.
It’s possible that the duchess, who signed with talent agency WME in April, was conducting business in the Los Angeles area amid her reported bid for a “Hollywood reinvention.”
“Meghan has a new team around her, and they’ve been strategizing about what mediums will have the most impact,” an insider told Us Weekly last week.
Markle’s comeback will reportedly focus on philanthropy and “be rooted in giving back.”
“There isn’t anything locked in yet, but the most promising [thing] for everyone seems to be Meghan and Harry highlighting important issues through docuseries and bringing attention and fundraising,” the source said.
In August, a source told Pvnew exclusively that Markle isn’t going to shy away from the spotlight.
“Meghan’s not seeking out opportunities to be photographed, but she’s realized she has to live her life, none of the cameras are going away,” the insider said.
Another source told us, “Meghan actually likes being famous.”
Markle, who has successfully infiltrated the Hollywood social scene, quietly launched a new Instagram handle in August and has been popping up in public in recent months.
Along with joining Harry at the Invictus Games in Germany last month, Markle was seen attending two of Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” world tour concerts and Kevin Costner’s charity fundraiser at his Santa Barbara, Calif., estate.
While the Sussexes were dropped by Spotify just three years after signing a staggering $20 million deal, Markle has plans to continue her “Archetypes” podcast on another platform.
She and Harry have had a strained relationship with the royal family since resigning from their royal duties in 2020.
The Duke of Sussex further angered his royal relatives after releasing his “Spare” memoir in January.
The couple’s public image was also dragged when they were accused of exaggerating a car chase with New York City paparazzi, though their rep denied the incident was a PR stunt.
Markle and Harry are scheduled to return to the Big Apple for the first time since the controversy for their Archewell Foundation’s first-ever in-person event on World Mental Health Day on Tuesday.
