Gwyneth Paltrow was caught using her Oscar trophy to prop open an outdoor gate on her property.
In a new video interview with Vogue shared on Monday, the Goop founder was seen strolling through her yard before passing a wooden door being held open by her golden statuette.
“What a beautiful Academy Award,” interviewer Joe Sabia told the actress in Vogue’s latest installment of their “73 Questions” video series, to which Paltrow, 51, responded enthusiastically, “[It’s] my doorstop!”
Paltrow — who won the Best Actress award for her role 1999 role in “Shakespeare in Love” — then joked, “It works perfectly.”
One fan on Twitter gushed that the “Glee” alum’s blasé treatment of her Academy Award was “iconic.”
“It’s giving Jane from ‘The Comeback,'” the fan tweeted along with a clip from the HBO mockumentary series showing Lisa Kudrow’s character, Valerie Cherish, commenting on her former producer Jane’s statuette holding open a door.
Another fan reposted the clip of Paltrow using her award to hold open her door, writing, “If you ever wondered where Gwyneth Paltrow keeps her Oscar…”
Paltrow won the Academy Award when she was just 26 years old for her role of Viola de Lesseps in the Oscar-winning film.
Other actresses nominated for the award that year included Meryl Streep for “One True Thing,” Cate Blanchett for “Elizabeth,” Emily Watson for “Hilary and Jackie,” and Fernanda Montenegro for “Central Station.”
In November 2020, Glenn Close slammed the Academy for givng Paltrow the coveted honor over Montenegro.
“I remember the year Gwyneth Paltrow won over that incredible actress who was in ‘Central Station’ and I thought, ‘What?’ It doesn’t make sense,” Close told ABC at the time.
Close continued, “So I think who wins has a lot of things to do with how things have been, you know, whether it has traction or whatever. Publicity, how much money did they have to put it out in front of everybody’s sight. I have to be philosophical about it, if I was upset about it.”
A year later, Andy Cohen asked Paltrow about Close’s shade, but the “Royal Tenenbaums” star had no idea the “Fatal Attraction” actress ever dragged her in the first place.
“I just heard this from you, Andy! I never heard about this,” Paltrow said on an October 2021 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” adding that she couldn’t respond because she didn’t “know enough about it.”
“So I plead the fifth,” Paltrow said.
Close herself has never won an Oscar, though she has been nominated eight times.
