This star’s heart is with Iran.
Anne Hathaway rocked a feminist T-shirt as she arrived for an appearance on ABC’s “The View” Friday, wearing a white tee printed with Iranian feminist icon Mahsa Amini’s name on repeat.
The “Devil Wears Prada” star, 40, proudly wore the statement T-shirt, which honors the late Iranian woman, whose 2022 death — following her arrest for not wearing a hijab in public — sparked a women’s rights movement and massive protests in the country.
The “Princess Diaries” actress isn’t the first star to wear an Amini tee; Jessica Chastain wore the same piece by Mr. Saturday in November 2022, two months after the 22-year-old’s tragic death.
Marion Cotillard and Juliette Binoche both publicly cut their hair in solidarity with Iranian women in the wake of the protests.
Hathaway paired her tee with a black crocodile-print leather pencil skirt, adding black slingback heels for her TV appearance.
Her visit to “The View” follows a trip to “Good Morning America” Thursday, when the actress wore an interesting Dion Lee ensemble consisting of double-waisted pants and a cropped blazer with a denim corset attached to the bottom.
Hathaway has been doing the media rounds to promote her new movie “She Came to Me,” which was released Friday.
The star has been on a fashionable spree for months, having most recently attended the star-studded Albie Awards, hosted by George and Amal Clooney, in a slinky Versace gown straight off the runway.
She also wowed at the 2023 Met Gala in a slashed safety pin Versace dress and also turned to her go-to brand, of which she is the face, for a stunning sparkling and hooded look at the Bulgari presentation shortly after.
Everything Hathaway wears makes a statement, political or not.
