Savannah Chrisley claims she “knew” Colton Underwood was gay four years before he came out.
The duo looked back on their 2017 ACM Awards date in Tuesday’s episode of the “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley” podcast.
“When we met the first time, I knew you were gay. Like, I knew it,” the “Growing Up Chrisley” alum, 25, said in the beginning of the episode, entitled “My Gay Ex-Lover.”
She and the “Bachelor” alum, 31, had “no connection … whatsoever” at the time — “for obvious reasons,” Underwood joked.
The former football player added, “When I say, ‘It’s not you, it’s me,’ I truly mean that. And obviously I’ve proven that at this point.”
After Chrisley teased that she was working with “the wrong equipment” to interest Underwood, she doubled down on her suspicions.
“I remember looking at [my friend] Emily, and I was like, ‘He’s totally gay,'” she recalled. “She was like, ‘No, he’s not, Savannah.'”
Chrisley admitted that she went back to her room after the awards show, telling Underwood that she was “really not feeling well” but actually hanging out with her pals “and another guy.”
The reveal did not “offend” Underwood, with the retired athlete saying he “would have done the same” in her position.
Underwood joined the “Bachelorette” cast the following year during Becca Kufrin’s season, followed by a “Bachelor in Paradise” stint.
In 2019, Underwood was the Season 23 “Bachelor” lead and left in a relationship with Cassie Randolph.
Nearly one year after the former couple split in May 2020, Underwood revealed his sexuality on “Good Morning America.”
Chrisley noted Tuesday that she sent the interview to her friend to say, “I told you so.”
The Bachelor Nation member is now engaged to Jordan C. Brown. The political strategist, 39, popped the question in February 2022 after less than one year of dating.
