Back to buzzed.
Daniel Day-Lewis made a rare red carpet appearance on Tuesday night, showing off his haircut after previously sporting long locks.
The retired actor, 66, posed for red carpet photos at the “She Came to Me” premiere in New York City with his wife, Rebecca Miller, and their 25-year-old son, Ronan.
The Oscar winner rocked a Canadian suit at the event, pairing a gray denim jacket with jeans and boots.
He accessorized with a turquoise string tie.
Miller, 61, was all smiles in a silky top and sequined bottoms, matching her boots, bag and manicure to the all-black ensemble.
As for Ronan, he cut a casual figure in a white tee and jeans.
The family affair was a rare occasion for the couple, who have been married since 1996 and welcomed Ronan two years later. They are also the parents of sons Gabriel-Kane, 28, and Cashel, 21.
Day-Lewis was last seen in public in June when he stepped out looking unrecognizable with his hair down to his shoulders.
At the time, the “Crucible” star walked New York City streets — with the help of crutches — while wearing sweatpants, a T-shirt and a baseball cap.
Day-Lewis’ fans praised the “legend” for his casual attire.
“Daniel Day-Lewis left acting as one of the best of all time and now casually walks around NY with long hair and high end track suits,” one Twitter user gushed, referencing the Golden Globe winner’s 2017 retirement after filming “Phantom Thread.”
The “Boxer” star has taken breaks from acting on other occasions, such as the time he pursued shoe cobbling in Italy from 1997 to 2000. He also temporarily pressed pause in 2012 after “Lincoln” hit theaters.
Day-Lewis explained his most recent retirement to W magazine in 2017, calling the decision “something [he] had to do.”
“All my life, I’ve mouthed off about how I should stop acting, and I don’t know why it was different this time,” he said. “But the impulse to quit took root in me, and that became a compulsion.”
