Alexander Ludwig celebrated five years of sobriety over the weekend by sharing how “lost” and “scared” he felt before getting help.

“It’s pretty crazy to me that five years ago to the day, I was so lost, so confused and so scared about where my life would go,” the “Vikings” star, 30, said in a video shared via Instagram Sunday.

“All I knew was that I had an issue and a problem that needed to be fixed.”

The actor, who married Lauren Ludwig in 2021, continued to share a message of hope to others who may be dealing with substance abuse issues or for “anybody that needs to see this.”

“If you’re struggling, be brave enough to ask for help and take it from me, there really is hope at the end of the road, there really is a light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.

The “Hunger Games” star — who affectionately noted his sobriety anniversary fell on the same day he went on his first date with Lauren three years ago — said that it was “staggering” how much his life has changed between getting out of rehab to today.

“It’s amazing what can happen when you decide to love yourself and commit to loving yourself and to growing every day as a human being as opposed to satiating these impulses we all have,” he shared.

Friends and fans flooded the comments section to give their support to Alexander, including fellow actor Aleks Paunovic.
