She’s got some straight-up style.
Meghan Markle has been keeping a low profile amid the ongoing drama with Prince Harry and the royal family, but she showed off a new look while making a surprise appearance in a video message yesterday.
Markle, 41, appeared to debut a lighter hair color with red highlights as she gave an introduction to her good friend Misan Harriman’s TED Talk on Sunday, sporting her center-parted locks in a poker-straight, layered style.
Although it appears she might have had a keratin straightening treatment, the Duchess of Sussex — who will not be attending the coronation of King Charles III next week — has also been a longtime fan of Kérastase’s Oléo-Relax line ($129).
Years ago, the royal told Beauty Banter she “religiously” uses the haircare brand’s frizz-smoothing products, and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, 41, is also said to use the same line.
Along with her sleek locks, Markle sported a glowy beauty look featuring a glossy pink lip, rosy cheeks and a smoky brown eye.
She wore a simple, sleeveless beige Brandon Maxwell dress as she delivered Harriman’s introduction from her California home.
“Our next speaker has an unmatched eye for a good photograph,” Markle said in the speech, applauding the work of Harriman, who photographed Princess Lilibet, 1, for her birthday snaps last year.
Continuing her introduction to Harriman’s speech, Markle said she’s “experienced his talent firsthand as he has captured many meaningful milestones for me and my family.”
The duchess’ appearance comes after it was confirmed she would not attend the coronation on May 6.
Prince Harry, 38, will be attending his father’s historic day without his wife, who will remain in California with Lilibet and Prince Archie, who will turn 4 on coronation day.
Last week, the Telegraph reported that Markle wrote a letter to King Charles in 2021 expressing her concerns about “unconscious bias” in the royal family.
The duchess, however, clapped back on Saturday, releasing a statement that read she was “going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago.”
After seeing her fresh new look, it seems she’s doing just fine.
