David Beckham has some words of wisdom for the hottest new pro-athlete-global superstar couple.
While speaking to People at Netflix’s premiere of the four-part “Beckham” documentary, the former soccer pro said it’s most important that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce make time for each other — now and in the future.
“It’s the same with me and [my wife] Victoria. We’ve been together now 26 years, almost three decades. We’ve got amazing kids, we’ve built businesses, but we make time for each other,” the father of four explained.
He added that consistently showing respect for one another and knowing “you have to work hard at these things” are also the secrets to a successful romance.
Beckham, 48, walked down the aisle with former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, 49, in 1999. They went on to have four children: sons Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and daughter Harper, 12.
The Inter Miami CF co-owner went on to share some sweet thoughts about the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker.
“Taylor is an amazing talent and she’s an amazing person, and she deserves to be happy. Whatever she does and whoever she’s with, as long as she’s happy, that’s the most important thing,” he gushed.
As fans know, the chatter about Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 33, hasn’t stopped since the former showed up at the Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 24.
The 12-time Grammy winner cheered Kelce on after he unsuccessfully attempted to slip her his number at her Eras Tour in July.
Swift and the NFL star were then seen exiting Arrowhead Stadium together after the Chiefs’ win before heading off to an afterparty. There, the singer was seen getting flirty with Kelce while she wrapped her arm around his neck.
Of course, Swift made headlines once again when she attended the Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey Sunday.
The “Anti-Hero” hitmaker spent both games with Kelce’s mom, who she was even seen hugging during the latter one.
“Donna likes Taylor and thinks she’s very sweet and down to earth,” an insider told People Monday.
Although this reported new romance seems to be off to a great start, a person close to the pro athlete revealed that his focus is football for the time being.
“During the NFL season, his priority is the Chiefs,” the source told People. “It’s all about the team.”
