Who is — and isn’t — attending King Charles’ coronation? The celebrity guest list

King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, will be coronated in London on May 6.

While many famous artists turned down the opportunity to perform at the coronation, there are still plenty of A-listers planning on attending the historical event.

Here is a breakdown of guests who are confirmed to show face, as well as those whose attendance remains up in the air or won’t be showing at all.

Attending A-listers

Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco “will definitely go” to the coronation and support King Charles and his wife on the big day.

“I’m certain that it’s going to be an incredible ceremony and a very moving one,” Albert told People in January. “We’ve maintained contact since His Majesty became king, but I haven’t talked to him personally since [Queen Elizabeth II]’s funeral.”

Albert added, “I’m certain His Majesty will add his own ‘personal touches’ to the ceremonies. But what those will be, I’m sure I don’t know.”

However, the European royal wasn’t sure whether his and Charlene’s young twins — Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella — would be attending as well.

“I don’t know what arrangements they’ll provide for other members of the family, and the children, I think, [they] may be a little young for these types of ceremonies. But we’ll see,” he said.

Either way, Albert is excited to be able to attend such a monumental event.

“You know I don’t know how many coronations of an English monarch I’ll see in my lifetime, so we’ll try to take advantage of that,” he said.

Japan royalty will be present at Charles’ coronation.

Arrangements are being made for Crown Prince Akishino and his wife, Crown Princess Kiko, to attend the occasion, Japan public broadcaster NHK reported (via Town and Country Magazine).

The couple married in 1990 and share three children: Prince Hisahito of Akishino, Mako Komuro (who lost her royal title after marrying a commoner) and Princess Kako of Akishino.

Prince William and Kate Middleton

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be in attendance for his father’s coronation.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend the momentous ceremony and will take part in the King’s Procession, which will go from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey.

William, the eldest son of Charles, is first in the line of succession to the British throne and is poised to have his own coronation upon his father’s death one day.

All three of William and Middleton’s children will likely join their parents in celebrating Charles’ coronation.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte are expected to be in the procession before watching Charles be crowned king, according to The Times.

However, an insider exclusively told Pvnew that Louis may not be able to attend due to his antics at past events.

Meanwhile, George — who is second in line to the throne behind his father — has a special role to play during the ceremony and was named one of the king’s Pages of Honor.

Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward

Pvnew has confirmed that Charles’ siblings — Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward — will be attending the big day.

While Anne and Edward’s attendance comes as no surprise, it could be seen as controversial for scandal-ridden Andrew to attend after his ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke of York — who was infamously stripped of his royal and military honors in 2022 by his late mother, the Queen — can no longer go by the title His Royal Highness.

While Andrew was forced to step back from his royal duties over his affiliation with Epstein, he was reportedly the Queen’s “favorite son” and attended her funeral.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry will be attending his dad’s coronation without his wife, Meghan Markle.

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6,” a palace spokesperson told Pvnew in April.

Markle will miss the ceremony so she can stay home in California with their two kids: Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

There had been much speculation as to whether or not the duke and duchess would fly in to support Harry’s dad, though a rep for the ex-royals previously confirmed they were both invited.

“I can confirm the duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation,” a spokesperson for the pair said in March. “An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

The Sussexes are on thin ice with Charles after resigning from their royal duties in 2020 and going on what seems like a publicity tour, during which they have repeatedly bashed the royal family in several of Markle’s interviews and in Harry’s controversial memoir, “Spare.”

Katy Perry

Katy Perry was announced as one of the headlining performers for Charles after several artists turned down the offer.

The “I Kissed A Girl” singer said in a statement on April 14, “I am excited to be performing at the Coronation Concert, and helping to shine a further light on the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund, whose work includes on-ground initiatives to fundraising, with the aim to find solutions to child trafficking.”

Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie, who is a fellow judge on “American Idol” alongside Perry, was also announced as a performer for Charles’ coronation.

The “All Night Long” singer said in a statement, “To share the stage with the other performers at The Coronation Concert is a once-in-a-lifetime event and it will be an honor and a celebration.”

Andrea Bocelli and the iconic British pop group Take That are also set to perform.

Potential attendees

David and Victoria Beckham

Rumors are swirling that David and Victoria Beckham will be attending the king’s coronation.

The retired soccer player and his fashion designer wife have been known to rub shoulders with the royal family and even attended Harry and Markle’s wedding in 2018.

Beckham also waited in line for hours to say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II after her death in September 2022.

Meanwhile, rumors swirled that all five of the former Spice Girls members would be reuniting for the coronation

Royal organizers are reportedly “super keen” to bring Victoria, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Melanie C. and Emma Bunton together to perform a concert, according to the Daily Mail. However, a Rolling Stone article claimed that the Spice Girls turned down the opportunity.

Still, it isn’t out of the question that Victoria will attend the event on the arm of her husband.

Reps for the Beckhams did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.

Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall

Charles’ niece Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall are expected to attend the event.

Zara, the daughter of Princess Anne, has yet to confirm whether or not she and her family members have received an invitation, however, she and her husband frequently attend other royal events.

Zara and Mike have been married since 2011.

Bear Grylls

It’s quite possible Bear Grylls will be showing up to Charles’ coronation.

The nature explorer attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral as chief scout so it’s clear he is an important figure to the royal family.

He has also spoken highly of Charles in the past, telling The Times in 2022 that he thinks the King is tough and doesn’t have an ego. Grylls also said that he thinks Charles would do just fine on an adventure with him.

“He’s quite a walker. Pretty tough,” Grylls said of Charles.

While it’s likely Grylls could snag an invite to the ceremony, his rep did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.

Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh is reportedly rumored to be on the guest list for Charles’ coronation.

The “Killing Eve” star — a recipient of Canada’s second-highest civilian honor the Order of Canada — attended the late Queen’s funeral.

Therefore, she could show up to the coronation to represent Canada’s presence, according to The Independent.

Oh’s rep did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.

Not attending

Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet

Markle will not be joining her husband for Charles’ coronation despite being invited — and neither will their two children.

“The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” a palace spokesperson confirmed to Pvnew in April.

It’s no surprise the former “Suits” star will be hanging back, as her relationship with Harry’s family members has been less than cordial.

Markle has dragged the royal family during several interviews since Megxit, claiming that they did nothing when she came forward about having suicidal thoughts. She also claimed that members of the royal family had voiced their concerns over her son’s skin color.

Joe Biden

President Biden is not going to be in attendance for Charles’ coronation.

The White House confirmed in April that the US president spoke with the British monarch by phone to let him know.

However, first lady Jill Biden will attend in her husband’s place.

Elton John

Elton John confirmed that he would be skipping Charles’ coronation.

The “Tiny Dancer” singer’s rep shared that John had to decline an offer to perform at the event because of a scheduling issue, Rolling Stone reported.

It is unclear where he will be on that day.

Sarah Ferguson

Sarah Ferguson reportedly did not score an invitation.

A source confirmed to Pvnew in April that Charles did not invite Fergie to the coronation.

The Duchess of York previously acknowledged that she likely would not be asked to attend the event because she is no longer with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. However, she still plans on celebrating the big day.

“I personally will be having a little tea room and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting,” she said on ITV’s “Loose Women.”

Ferguson and Andrew were married from 1986 to 1996.
