Colleen Ballinger, the YouTube star who rose to fame through her ultra-awkward alter-ego Miranda Sings, announced in a video that she is pregnant with twins.
Ballinger, in a video she uploaded Thursday, revealed that she is expecting twins. As of Friday, the video was No. 1 on YouTube’s trending chart in the U.S. She and her husband, Erik Stocklin, have a 3-year-old son, Flynn.
Ballinger previously had shared that she had become pregnant earlier this year — a pregnancy that had ended in a miscarriage. “It made me so excited to be pregnant, excited to meet that baby, so losing that was devastating,” she said in the latest video. “Immediately, Erik and I knew this was something we wanted in our lives. We knew that we immediately wanted to start trying to have another baby.”
Currently eight weeks pregnant with the twins, Ballinger said she’s experienced more nausea than when she was pregnant with Flynn. Ballinger said that on May 5 she experienced complications and “rushed to the doctor for an ultrasound” — where she got unexpected news that she is pregnant with twins.
Ballinger, who said that twins run in her family, added, “I really hope that there are other twin moms out there that can help me out because I’m really scared…. I barely made it through one baby, so two at the same time sounds very stressful.”
Ballinger is a classically trained singer who started posting videos as Miranda Sings to amuse her friends. She made her Broadway debut two years ago in “Waitress” after starring in two seasons Netflix original series “Haters Back Off!” as Miranda Sings.
More recently, Ballinger and Stocklin earlier in 2021 launched a weekly podcast, “Relax! with Colleen and Erik.”
