Jennifer Lopez reportedly helped her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, “become a family man again” prior to her divorce filing.
When the now-exes tied the knot in July 2022, they made their blended family a priority in their marriage, an insider told People on Thursday.
“Family is very important to them, and together they were family people — and the connection doesn’t end,” the source said.

The “Argo” star, 52, shares three kids, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Meanwhile, Lopez, 55, is the mother to twins Max and Emme, 16, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Since rekindling their romance in 2021, Affleck and Lopez have been spotted with their children at amusement parks, outdoor movie screenings and basketball games.
The “Justice League” star has also spent quality time with his kids in Los Angeles and most recently took his son, Samuel, on a motorcycle joyride.
The source also told People that Lopez and Affleck are “very different people” — saying the singer is “super public and wants to go out,” while the actor is “more of an introvert and is happy to hang out at home.”
On Tuesday, Lopez pulled the plug on her marriage to Affleck on the second anniversary of their Georgia nuptials.
Sources told Page Six the “Jenny from the Block” singer chose the significant date to submit the filing to show she is a “woman standing up in her own way” after feeling “humiliated” that the marriage didn’t work out.
The “Good Will Hunting” actor reportedly showed “no interest” in fixing the union, with his estranged wife listing their separation date as April 26.
“He hasn’t shown any commitment and interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point that she just needs to look out for herself,” a source told People Wednesday.
We’ve been told the former couple and their five kids have accepted the marriage is over.
“Everybody is ready to move on,” an insider told Page Six Tuesday.
The “Selena” star’s divorce filing came after Affleck arrived back in Los Angeles from dropping his daughter Violet off for her freshman year at Yale University.
The father of three appeared in good spirits while deboarding a private jet alongside Garner, 52, but later appeared downcast when the divorce news broke.
The next day, Affleck seemed stressed while smoking a cigarette on his way to work as Lopez has continued to lay low since her last public sighting on Aug. 18.
Despite separating from Affleck, the mom of two has maintained close relationships with his children.
