Ben Affleck is calling out his longtime BFF Matt Damon for being a filthy roommate when they lived together in the early days of their careers.
The “Air” director shared on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” Thursday that he and his brother, Casey Affleck, who also lived with Damon at the time, once decided to go on “strike” and not clean to try and force the “Bourne Identity” star to pick up after himself.
Ben, 50, said they wanted to “wait and see how long” Damon, 52, would go before realizing, “‘God, I’m covered in garbage.'”
However, the “Argo” director said the plan backfired because Damon ended up going “two weeks without touching the apartment.”
Ben said he walked in one day to find his pal playing a Sega Genesis hockey game surrounded by “concentric circles of garbage,” including an old pizza box and leftover sushi that had “maggots.”
The “Armageddon” star claimed the “Jason Bourne” actor was clueless to the state of filth he was living in and just told him and Casey, 47, “‘Hey, what’s going on fellas?’
“We were, like, ‘We submit. We submit. You are too good. We cannot beat you,'” Ben said he told Damon in response, forcing him and his brother to once again clean up the place.
The “Gone Girl” star explained that he believes the “Martian” actor was able to go about his day without paying attention to the dirt surrounding him because he has a remarkable ability to mentally “block things out.”
Ben raved that Damon is a “beautiful” and “brilliant” guy but concluded that he would “not suggest living with him.”
“God bless his wife, Lucy [Barroso]. There is a place for you in heaven,” he added.
Ben and Damon began lived together in Los Angeles in order to help save money while they both tried to get their acting careers off the ground.
The “Good Will Hunting” writers also had a joint bank account when they lived in Boston.
Ben told James Corden Thursday that they decided to share their funds in order to help pay bills and be able to “take the train to New York to do the next audition.”
“When the ‘Bourne Identity’ came out, I was pretty psyched,” the “Town” actor quipped.
However, Ben noted that once again Damon wasn’t the most responsible when it came to getting the bills paid on time.
The “Justice League” star said when his “Last Duel” co-star would question why the lights were off, he’d have to remind him the “utility company needs money to continue to fund our electricity.”
Ben joked, “Matt’s never paid a bill to this day.”
Damon’s rep did not immediately return Pvnew’s request for comment on Ben’s remarks.
