When Page Six caught up with the actor in New York City Thursday night at a screening of his new movie, “Ezra,” we asked how thrilled he was with the news.

“I’m always very weary. I don’t wanna get too excited about anything,” he told us, adding, “It’s as it should be. Justice has been served. That’s it.”

He also accused Trump of trying to “destroy” the United States.

As for whether he thinks Trump could still win the 2024 presidential election in November, De Niro, 80, replied, “For me, it’s not over ’til it’s over.”

The longtime Trump critic went on to refer to the avidness of the newly convicted felon’s fans as “craziness.”

And when it comes to doing more campaigning for President Joe Biden, with whom he rallied outside the Manhattan courthouse earlier this week, the Oscar winner told us, “I’m planning on it. We’ll see at this point.”

In a conversation with PvNew at the same “Ezra” screening, De Niro accused Trump of wanting to “destroy” the United States.

Hours prior, Trump, 77, became the first former US president to be convicted on criminal charges.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee for the upcoming election was found guilty on all counts by a jury of 12 Manhattanites in the unprecedented trial.

When asked to read the verdict on count one of the indictment, the foreman stood up calmly and said, “Guilty.” He then repeated the word 33 more times when asked to read the jury’s verdict on the other counts.

Trump, meanwhile, sat slouched in his seat with his shoulders slumped forward. He titled his head, looking at each juror as his fate was read aloud.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced July 11 and will remain free without bail until then. He faces up to four years in federal prison, but probation is also a possibility.

Afterward, Trump — who will most certainly appeal — claimed Biden “rigged” the trial and added, “The real verdict will be Nov. 5 by the people. I’m an innocent man. I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our constitution. We’re a nation in decline.”

The real estate mogul was accused of illegally trying to cover up a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels so the sex scandal wouldn’t derail his 2016 campaign.

The felony counts related to falsifying invoices, checks and ledger entries.
