Miami is bringing out Courteney Cox’s inner Monica Geller.
The actress channeled her “Friends” character while experiencing frizzy hair in Florida, recreating an iconic Season 9 episode via Instagram Wednesday.
Cox, 59, gushed about how much she “love[d] Miami” before opening a door while sporting a black bikini and matching coverup.

As the Emmy nominee stepped onto the balcony, immediately rocking a fuller hairstyle, she cried out, “It’s the humidity!”
The quote notably comes from scenes in which Monica explains her hair’s appearance as her husband, Chandler Bing (played by the late Matthew Perry), compares her to Diana Ross and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Many of Cox’s social media followers celebrated the reference in the comments section.
“I feel so bad for those who haven’t seen where this came from,” one wrote, with another gushing that the “Cougar Town” star “knows the way to our hearts.”
A third joked, “Diana Ross is back!”
Others told Cox to “put some sea shells on it” and “watch out for shower curtains,” poking fun at her character getting her subsequent braided hairstyle stuck to the rings.
Cox last acted as Monica in August 2023 when she hilariously tried to hide a “secret” junk-filled closet from cameras.
“Don’t film this. No, seriously, don’t film it,” she told her assistant before asking him to “erase the footage now.”
Monica similarly freaked over Chandler finding her messy closet in the Season 8 episode, as she is notoriously clean.
The following month, news broke that Perry had died at age 54 after being found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home’s hot tub.
“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day,” Cox captioned a touching tribute to her late co-star in November 2023.
She shared on “CBS Sunday Mornings” last week that Perry “visits [her] a lot” and is still “around for sure.”
