Patrick Mahomes believes he deserves some credit for pushing Travis Kelce to shoot his shot with Taylor Swift.
“I like to take some of the credit, I was the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert,” the NFL quarterback shared on Thursday’s episode of the “Pat McAfee Show,” referencing the pop star’s Eras Tour stop in Kansas City, Mo., last July.
“He was sitting in my suite so I feel like I was the matchmaker.”

Mahomes, 28, explained he gave Kelce, 34, the confidence boosts to try and give Swift, 34, a friendship bracelet with his phone number, which he ultimately failed at.
“I had some input in there as well. I was like, ‘Dude, just go for it. Go for it,'” the Kansas City Chiefs star continued.
“And you know Travis, man. He does it and he’s a great dude and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best.”
Ahead of Kelce’s whirlwind romance with the “Lover” songstress, he got candid about his failed attempt to gift Swift the friendship bracelet he made just for her.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he explained on his “New Heights” podcast weeks after the concert.
“So, I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her … She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me … I took it personal.”
However, the tight end’s efforts weren’t wasted as Swift admitted their relationship took off after he “adorably put [her] on blast on his podcast.”
“We started hanging out right after that,” she told Time back in December. “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
The couple kept their romance under wraps until the 14-time Grammy winner attended her first Chiefs game in September 2023.
“I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game?” she continued. “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
Swift also noted that she believes it’s important to watch her significant other “do what he loves” and for them to “[show] up for each other,” which they’ve done ever since going public with their romance.
During the NFL season, the “Cruel Summer” singer supported Travis at several of his games alongside her new pal Brittany Mahomes and the Kelce family matriarch, Donna Kelce.
The professional footballer has also shown up for Swift as she continues to take the stage for the international leg of her Eras Tour.
He was most recently spotted jamming out at the pop icon’s concert in Paris alongside Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper on May 12.
Travis kept his stay in the City of Love brief as he and Swift then jetted off for a romantic getaway to Lake Como, Italy.
The couple were photographed having dinner at their private $21,000-per-night villa and packing on the PDA while enjoying a boat ride.
