Rory McIlroy was spotted without his wedding ring after he filed for divorce from wife Erica Stoll on Monday.
On Wednesday, the professional golfer was photographed smiling as he practiced a round before the 2024 PGA Championship at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.
McIlroy, 35, wore a cream-colored Nike hoodie, tan pants and a white Nike cap and his wedding band was visibly missing from his ring finger.
The sighting comes two days after the athlete filed to divorce Stoll, 36, after seven years of marriage.
According to docs obtained by Page Six, McIlroy filed to end his union in Florida, citing that the marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
His rep told us that his desire is “to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible” and pointed out that “he will not be making any further comment.”

McIlroy stated in the docs that he and Stoll should create a parenting plan and have “shared parental responsibility” for their 3-year-old daughter, Poppy.
He also wants the court to uphold their prenuptial agreement, signed in March 2017.

They tied the knot in 2016 in a lavish star-studded wedding at the medieval Ashford Castle in Ireland.
The nuptials reportedly cost $250,000 and included several A-listers such as Stevie Wonder, Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin.
In August 2020, they welcomed their daughter, whom McIlroy called the “absolute love of our lives.”
