Northern Irish professional golfer Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll’s marriage is over.
His rep confirmed to Page Six that divorce documents had been filed on Monday after seven years of marriage.
According to docs seen by Page Six, McIlroy was the one to file to end their union in Florida. However, the reason for their split was not immediately available.
His rep told us that his desire is “to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible” and pointed out that “he will not be making any further comment.”

Stoll, 36, and the athlete, 35, first met in 2012 at the Ryder Cup, where she worked as a PGA transport official.
During a 2019 interview with the Golf Channel, the golfer recalled meeting her when she got him a police escort to his course after he overslept.
“Erica, that week, was always the one that was checking us in and out. She was there at transportation, so she was always in the car park over there,” he told the outlet at the time.
“But yeah, it’s still cool to look around and think about that week and, obviously, everything that’s happened since then. It’s pretty cool.”
The pair went on to tie the knot in 2016 in a lavish star-studded wedding at the medieval Ashford Castle in Ireland.
The nuptials — which reportedly cost a whopping $250,000 — were kept under wraps and included several A-listers such as Stevie Wonder, Niall Horan, Ed Sheeran and Chris Martin.
By 2020, the couple revealed they were expecting their first child together when Stoll was in her third trimester. They welcomed daughter Poppy in August of that year.
The four-time major champion celebrated the birth of his daughter on Instagram by sharing a black-and-white photo of the infant holding his finger.
“Poppy Kennedy McIlroy, born August 31st, 12:15pm,” he wrote in September 2020.
“She is the absolute love of our lives. Mother and baby are doing great. Massive thank you to all the staff at Jupiter Medical Center and Dr Sasha Melendy for their amazing care ❤️❤️❤️.”
