Dean McDermott has responded to Tori Spelling’s divorce filing.
The “Due South” star pushed back against his estranged wife’s request for sole custody of their kids on Monday and requested joint physical and legal custody, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.
Similar to the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum’s filing, he also requested spousal support and asked the court to terminate spousal support for Spelling.

While McDermott, 57, also cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, he listed their date of separation as July 7, 2023. Meanwhile, Spelling, 50, had listed June 17, 2023.
Both parties are also requesting for the other to pay their attorneys’ fees.
The former couple share five children together: Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7.
The mom of five officially filed for divorce from the Canadian actor on March 29 — nine months after they announced their breakup.
She requested spousal support from the “Chopped Canada” host and cited no information about a prenuptial agreement.
Spelling, who tied the knot with McDermott in 2006, told him about the divorce on the phone while recording the March 31 episode of her “misSPELLING” podcast.
The “Scary Movie 2” star told her ex she “hate[d] to do this to” him during his workday.
“They’ve done it,” she told McDermott. “It’s the formality. It’s just the one sheet you check off, and next, you’ll have to sign it.”
While Spelling didn’t air her estranged husband’s voice, her side of the conversation implied that the “Open Range” star wanted to be the one to file the divorce papers first.
“In all honesty, after this whole journey, if it’s about … who files first, the other person is wrong, I feel like I deserve to file first then,” she said.
The father of five later confirmed there was no bad blood between himself and Spelling when he told reporters that same day, “It’s been a long time coming, but T and I are good.”
McDermott announced that he and Spelling were calling it quits after 17 years of marriage in a since-deleted Instagram post in June 2023.
He later revealed that he had hit rock bottom around that time, telling the DailyMail in November 2023 that Spelling urged him to seek treatment for the alcohol-fueled rages that led to their split.
“You know, she just wants me to be happy. Bottom line,” he told Page Six in March. “And she’s such an incredible woman that way. She’s one of the most generous people I’ve ever met in my life.”
Meanwhile, he has since moved on with girlfriend Lily Calo, while Spelling was recently romantically linked to a McDermott look-alike.
