Bill Hudson finally has spoken out about “healing” his relationship with his estranged children, Kate and Oliver Hudson.
“We are warming up [and] letting things take their course,” the musician told Us Weekly in an interview published Tuesday. “All families have rifts. It’s nice that our rift is healing.”
The “Almost Famous” star, 45, and the “Rules of Engagement” alum, 47, have been vocal about their fractured relationship with their biological father, 74, whom they felt abandoned them following his divorce from their mother, Goldie Hawn, in 1982.

The “First Wives Club” star, now 78, moved on with Kurt Russell the following year and eventually welcomed son Wyatt Russell. Both Kate and Oliver refer to Kurt, 73, as “Pa.”
“There’s no pressure,” Bill told the publication. “We’re just letting it be what it will be. Because no one is pushing it; there’s no turmoil or issues.”
The Hudson Brothers vocalist explained that the trio are doing their best to look forward instead of harping on the past.
“A lot went down, and we aren’t revisiting it,” he added. “No one wants to rehash the past. You can’t move forward if all you’re doing is analyzing the past. We’re in the present.”
The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” star previously revealed that she’s also been in contact with her half-siblings. (Bill is also a father to Emily, 42, and Zachary, 38, with his late ex-wife, Cindy Williams, and Lalania, 18, with ex Caroline Graham. He also welcomed son Paul as a teen, but he was put up for adoption.)
“My daughter Emily just had a baby, [and] Kate’s been great about that,” Bill explained. “I love it. We’re all coming back.
“Everyone has gone through life experiences and all the crap in the public eye and realized that all you have is your family.”
Last month, Kate appeared on “CBS Sunday Morning” and admitted that while their relationship is “warming up,” she does not have any “expectations” of Bill.
Oliver, meanwhile, made headlines in June 2015 for wishing Bill a “happy abandonment day” on Father’s Day.
