Khloé Kardashian revealed that her doctor offered to take her and Tristan Thompson’s son, Tatum, home after he was delivered via surrogate in July 2022.

The “Kardashians” star explained that she was “hysterically crying” after finding out that her surrogate was giving birth earlier than expected, and she couldn’t spend a “last weekend” with her daughter, True.

“It wasn’t even about the weekend, it was about now this is real,” Kardashian said on Tuesday’s episode of the “SHE MD” podcast with her doctor, Dr. Thaïs Aliabadi, and Mary Alice Haney.

Kardashian, 39, didn’t react to the news that well and told Aliabadi that they “can’t do this,” because she “just needed the weekend.”

However, Aliabadi assured Kardashian that the surrogate had “no fluid in the sac,” so they “need[ed]” to “deliver within 24 hours.”

“She [Aliabadi] goes, ‘You know what?’ I’ll deliver the baby. I’ll take the baby and you let me know when you’re ready to pick him up.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ I’m like, ‘Who does this? Who even offers that?’ And she did. And I remember I was like to myself, ‘Khloé, f–king snap out of it. This is life. We got to do this,'” Kardashian shared.

Aliabadi chimed in that she’s “done that before.”

The Good American founder explained that in addition to Tatum being her first child born via surrogate, she was also in the midst of a challenging situation when she learned her ex, Tristan Thompson, had gotten another woman pregnant while they were also expecting Tatum.

“It devastated me because that’s when all the judgment and the knives were thrown at me,” she recalled.

Kardashian has previously gotten candid about her struggles to form a “complete bond” with Tatum after the surrogate gave birth to him in July 2022.

“The connection… took days with True. With him, it’s taking months and we still don’t have a complete bond,” she said on a June 2023 episode of “The Kardashians.”

She clarified that she did “not treat him differently” than True, but she just “question[ed] myself sometimes.”

“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby. I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it,” she told sister Kim Kardashian –– who also had two children via surrogate –– in an earlier episode.

“I take the baby and I go to another room and you’re sort of separated. It’s such a transactional experience ’cause it’s not about him. It’s a mind f–k. It’s really the weirdest thing,” she continued.

However, Kardashian explained on the podcast that it took her about nine months to “fully connect” with Tatum, but she’s now “obsessed” with him and encouraged others using a surrogate to “give yourself grace” and “patience.”
