Eva Mendes is “locked down” and loving it.
Although the actress “certainly didn’t think” she’d be a stay-at-home mom at 50, she gushed to People about her life with Ryan Gosling and their two daughters.
“A certain man came into my life and made me change my mind about all that stuff,” she explained in an interview published Wednesday.

Mendes’ career has been on hold since welcoming daughter Esmeralda, 9, and daughter Amada, 7, in 2014 and 2016, respectively — which she called the “easiest decision” she’s made.
She told the outlet that she “wanted to be there for all of” the little ones’ “formative” years.
The businesswoman’s comments come on the heels of her telling “Today” show viewers about her and Gosling’s “non-verbal agreement” that she would take a step back from acting to raise their family.
The actor, meanwhile, has starred in “Barbie,” “The Gray Man” and more major films since becoming a dad.
“It was like, ‘Ok, he’s going to work and I’m going to work, I’m just going to work here,'” Mendes said in March. “I’m so lucky.”
The choice was a “no-brainer,” she continued, clarifying, “I still worked, I just didn’t act. Acting takes you on locations, it takes you away.”
She and Gosling met and fell in love on set of “The Place Beyond the Pines” in 2011.
Although the pair have sparked engagement and marriage rumors over the years, they have never confirmed nor denied those milestones — besides Mendes referring to Gosling as her “husband” in 2022.
The couple keep their love life private, but Gosling has recently made headlines for giving his partner subtle shout-outs.
While hosting “Saturday Night Live” in April, the Golden Globe winner joked about being married to a Cuban woman.
He also wore a T-shirt promoting Mendes’ children’s book, “Desi, Mami and the Never-Ending Worries,” during a press day for “The Fall Guy” Monday.
Gosling went a different route for the movie’s premiere on Tuesday, with him and Mikey Day reviving their Beavis and Butt-Head looks from their viral “SNL” sketch.
