Brittany Cartwright is spilling more tea on why her marriage to Jax Taylor cooled down.
During her first appearance on “Vanderpump Rules” in four years Tuesday night, she told her former co-star and pal Scheana Shay that she and Taylor constantly fought over money once she started making more.
“I know whenever me and Jax were going through that where I was making more money for once, I could tell that was a shift for him,” she said. “We were fighting a lot because of that alone.”

Her revelation came after she asked Shay, 38, if “being the breadwinner” caused strife in her marriage to Brock Davies, to which she replied it did.
Theorizing about both of their husbands, Cartwright added, “I think because they are such manly men, that can be something even if they don’t express it.”
The former Hooters waitress, 35, shared a similar sentiment during Tuesday’s “Vanderpump Rules After Show,” explaining that “the roles kind of flipped” for her and Taylor after they stepped back from the hit Bravo series in 2020.
“I was definitely making more money,” she noted. “I can tell it hurt Jax’s ego.”
The pair have several streams of income aside from reality television.
Taylor, 44, claimed on “House of Villains” (via Business Insider) in 2023 that his estranged wife made $2 million from her recent partnership with Jenny Craig when she dropped more than 40 pounds after welcoming their son, Cruz, in 2021.
However, rather than sounding jealous of her earnings, he gloated that his wife “crushes it.”
Meanwhile, he claimed to have made about $450,000 on Cameo by sending personalized videos to fans.
Together, they own a sports bar called Jax’s Studio City and run a podcast named “When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany.” Plus, their newest reality show, “The Valley,” premiered in March.
While money appears to have been a major factor in the demise of the reality stars’ relationship, it wasn’t the only issue.
The mother of one previously claimed their sexless marriage and Taylor’s alleged unwillingness to make any changes led to their split. She also accused him of acting like a toddler during a chat with People earlier this month.
“I’m taking care of my toddler, and I’m also taking care of another toddler named Jax Taylor, because I basically do everything for the household,” she complained.
Cartwright announced their split on her and Taylor’s podcast in February.
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” she said at the time.
“Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
In March, they denied that infidelity was at the root of their separation.
The pair have not mentioned anything about divorce.
