Brittany Cartwright was surprised to learn that her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, “liked” an Instagram comment that suggested he would have been better off marrying ex Stassi Schroeder instead of her.
“What? He ‘liked’ it?” the 35-year-old “Valley” star replied with a nervous laugh after “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast host Amanda Hirsch informed her of her ex’s social media activity.
“Very weird. That is so creepy,” Cartwright added on Tuesday’s show as Hirsch agreed with her.

While Cartwright sounded shocked, fans were less than. “I always felt Jax never loved Brittany and was obsessed with Stassi. She was the one who got away and he could never be good enough for her,” one person wrote on X.
“I always thought Jax had a thing for Kristen [Doute],” a second fan commented, referring to his current “Valley” co-star.
A third user quipped, “Brittany was warned. This is a fall of her own making.”
Page Six did not receive an immediate reply from representatives for Taylor, Cartwright or Schroeder.
As fans may recall, Taylor, 44, was dating Schroeder, 35, during the premiere season of “Vanderpump Rules” in 2013. However, after two rocky seasons, they split when Schroeder discovered that Taylor slept with their friend, Kristen Doute.
He and Cartwright met in 2015 and began dating ahead of the hit Bravo series’ fourth season. However, they briefly split after he cheated on her with former SURver Faith Stowers between Seasons 5 and 6. Notably, Stowers sued Bravo this month for discrimination and retaliation.
Taylor and Cartwright made it through the hard times, though, and got engaged in 2018. They walked down the aisle in June 2019 in the bride’s home state of Kentucky and in April 2021, welcomed their first child, a son named Cruz Michael Cauchi.
After joining forces on a podcast in 2023 and landing a “VPR” spinoff, “The Valley,” which premiered in March, Cartwright announced their decision to split.
“Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” she explained on the Feb. 29 episode of their podcast, “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.”
Since then, Cartwright has minced few words when discussing the reality of their marriage and what led to their separation.
In March, for instance, she told TMZ that Taylor was “not trying” to work on their marriage.
“I’ve asked him for a while to do certain things and nothing has come from that,” she added. “Whenever you fight with somebody for so long, there’s only so much you can take, and you know, I deserve better, [our 2-year-old son] Cruz deserves better.”
“We’ve been together nine years, and people stop appreciating and take you for granted after some time — and that should never happen in a marriage,” she exclusively told Page Six later that month.
“So that’s what I’m trying to get back and if it doesn’t come back, then we won’t get back together.”
She then likened Taylor to a “toddler” when speaking to People about their dynamic earlier in April.
The pair both previously denied that their marital strife was the result of cheating.
