Jenna Bush Hager’s 4-year-old son, Hal Hager, made his adorable debut on “Today with Hoda and Jenna” Monday.
Bush Hager and her co-host, Hoda Kotb, teased that they were interviewing a completely new guest to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their NBC morning talk show.
“We’ve been waiting for this booking, and we took a lot of phone calls and trying, but after five years, this guest is finally making his appearance,” Kotb began, before announcing their guest was Bush Hager’s youngest child.

As soon as Hal saw his mom, he started running towards her while screaming, “Hi,” before she hugged him and picked him up to sit on her lap.
While Jenna, 42, tried to get Hal to comfortably sit with her, Kotb –– who’s also brought on her two daughters before –– began wiping away tears while laughing at the same time.
“What do you say to Hoda?” Jenna asked Hal, to which he quietly and sweetly replied, “Hi Hoda.”
Hal seemed to get a little more shy after he sat down and saw all the cameras looking at him.
At one point, the little one covered his ears and began staring off to the side while continuing to hold onto both his mom and his stuffed animals.
“Do you wanna say something?” Jenna asked him, and he softly said, “No,” while burying his head in between her neck and her chest.

Jenna reminded viewers that her son previously “cried” after he saw his mom on television for the first time, so he might be slightly confused.
“You know what? Hal, we’ve been waiting for you for five years to come on you know why?” Kotb, 59, asked him, and he asked back, “Why?”
“Because you were in your mommy’s tummy, and now you’re five years old almost, right? When’s your birthday?” Kotb continued.
Kotb’s birthday question seemed to get Hal more excited, since he informed her that his birthday was Aug. 2 and nodded “yes” when asked if he “likes mommy’s job.”
“Am I on TV?” Jenna asked, and he replied, “Yes!”
But when asked if he prefers his mom’s show or the popular animated show “Bluey,” he said, “both.”
“What do you want to say to Hoda?” Jenna asked her son, and reminded him she wanted him to wish Hoda a “happy anniversary.”
Hal quietly said, “nothing,” before he began whispering into his mom’s ear and eventually admitted that he was “scared” to say it.
“You’re scared? OK, you don’t have to,” Jenna assured him while wrapping her arms around him and holding him tighter.
The two co-hosts laughed before Kotb told him how “amazing” both he and his mom is.
“You know how much you’re loved, little boy?” Jenna told him before hugging him and laughing while saying, “Well, this booking went really well!”
Kotb then began to introduce guest Chloe Fineman before Hal asked his mom, “Do I still get a doughnut?”
“Yes you do! You did a good job!” Jenna assured him.
The former first daughter has previously brought her other two children –– daughters Mila, 10, and Poppy, 8 –– onto the show before, and they even took the opportunity to share that their mom “never wears underwear.”
Jenna shares her three children with husband, Hal Hager, whom she married in May 2008.
