Anne Hathaway revealed she had a miscarriage before welcoming two sons with her husband, Adam Shulman.
The “Princess Diaries” star got candid about her fertility journey during an interview with Vanity Fair published Monday, revealing her loss occurred in 2015 amid her Off-Broadway play “Grounded.“
“The first time it didn’t work out for me,” she explained. “I was doing a play and I had to give birth onstage every night.”

“It’s really hard to want something so much and to wonder if you’re doing something wrong,” the actress furthered.
Shortly after the miscarriage, Hathaway and Shulman — who tied the knot in September 2012 — welcomed their first son, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, now 8, on March 24, 2016.
At the time, sources told E! News that the notoriously private couple were “ecstatic to be parents.”
