New footage released shows one of Ruby Franke’s sons arriving at a neighbor’s house after escaping from his home.
Released by the Washington County Attorney’s Office, the security footage shows her 12-year-old son asking an adult male for a “favor” — to take him to the police department.
“It’s just personal business,” the boy tells the man.

The footage ends with an ambulance arriving at the house before EMS examines the boy.
Franke’s arrest report, obtained by Page Six at the end of August after she was taken into custody, revealed the disgraced “8 Passengers” host had been arrested after one of her six children showed up to the neighbor’s house looking “malnourished.”
Police on the scene described the unidentified child’s wounds, neglect and malnourishment to be so “severe” that they transported the victim to the nearby Saint George Regional Hospital.
Franke, 42, and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were arrested under suspicion of aggravated child abuse. Four of Franke’s children remain in the care of the Department of Child and Family Services.
The former YouTube star was sentenced to serve up to 60 years in prison, but Utah law states that imprisonment terms must not exceed more than 30 years when consecutive sentences are issued.
The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole will determine her exact amount of prison time, and she has up to 30 days to appeal; however, her attorney previously shared she has no intentions of doing so.
“As far as we know, Ruby Franke does not have any intentions of appealing the sentence,” the Winward Law flak told the “Today” show on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
“She has taken full responsibility for her actions and is prepared to serve her time in prison.”
Prior to receiving her steep punishment, Franke apologized to her family.
“I was the mama duck who was consistently waddling you to safety,” she said in court. “I can see now that over the past four years, I was in a deep undercurrent that led us to danger.”
Franke’s son Chad, 19, was spotted smiling as he departed the courthouse following his estranged mother’s sentencing.
