Kate Middleton reportedly met with King Charles III ahead of her cancer announcement.
The Princess of Wales sat down for a private lunch with her father-in-law Thursday to discuss their “common health experience,” sources told People.
Charles — who revealed his cancer diagnosis in February — “has always had a very good bond” with his daughter-in-law, author Sally Bedell Smith, also shared with the outlet.

Another insider also told People that as Charles continues his treatment, he is “progressing well” and planning his summer agenda without “committing to anything.”
On Friday, Middleton announced she was diagnosed with cancer and was in the early stages of chemotherapy.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” the mother of three said in a video.
“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
While she didn’t disclose the type of cancer she had, the princess claimed the diagnosis was a “huge shock.”
Amid the ongoing conspiracy theories about her whereabouts, Middleton furthered she and her husband, Prince William, 41, have been doing everything they can to privately process “for the sake” of themselves and their children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

We’re told the couple wanted their kids to have enough time to “understand and process the news before it was made public.”
Charles immediately showed his support following Middleton’s announcement with a Buckingham Palace spokesperson telling us, he is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.”
The spokesperson furthered the monarch has “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.”
Royal author Valentine Low also previously told us Middleton likely felt the “pressure” to come clean with her diagnosis as several fans speculated the reasons behind her absence since Christmas 2023.
“They probably felt the pressure to announce,” the “Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition, and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor” author explained.
Since her announcement, Middleton has received several apologies from celebs who poked fun at the conspiracy theories involving an alleged affair scandal and heavily edited photo.
