Other relatives of Kate’s who have also spoken out about her health struggles are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and King Charles III, who is in the midst of his own cancer battle.

The monarch said via a Buckingham Palace spokesperson Friday that he is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.”

The rep also shared that Kate and Charles, 75, have “remained in the closest contact … throughout the past weeks” as they both spent some time together at the hospital.

The spokesperson concluded that His Majesty and his wife, Queen Camila, “will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time.”

Following weeks of speculation and conspiracy theories, Kate announced in an emotional video message that she had been diagnosed with cancer shortly after having abdominal surgery in January.

“My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” the princess said in the clip.

Kate explained she and Prince William had not shared the news with the public earlier because they wanted to take their time explaining the ordeal to their three kids: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

“As I have said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal, in my mind, body and spirits,” she continued.

Kate said that while her focus remains on her recovery, she looks “forward to being back” to her duties when she is “able.” It was disclosed shortly after that the princess will not attend the royals’ Easter service.

The type of cancer Kate is battling and the stage in which she is in has not yet been revealed.
