Blake Lively apologized for mocking Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day “Photoshop fail” after the royal announced she had been diagnosed with cancer.
“I’m sure no one cares today but I feel like I have to acknowledge this,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories Friday. “I made a silly post around the ‘photoshop fails’ frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today.”
The “Green Lantern” actress, 36, concluded her message by writing, “I’m sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always. ❤️.”

Though Lively’s post came amid growing conspiracy theories about Middleton’s whereabouts following her abdominal surgery in January, the rumors were all put to rest on Friday when she shared her shocking diagnosis.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,” she said in the video message filmed by BBC Studios. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
Middleton said she was advised by her medical teams to “undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy,” which she said she is now in the early stages of.

The princess said the diagnosis “came as a huge shock” to her and her husband, Prince William, and they have been doing everything they can to “process and manage this privately” for the sake of their kids: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits,” she continued.
Middleton concluded her message by asking for “space and privacy” and by encouraging others who have cancer to “not lose faith or hope.”
