No one is immune to the pricey cost of the 2024 Super Bowl — not even the players.
“I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come,” Travis Kelce told his brother, Jason Kelce, in Thursday’s episode of their “New Heights” podcast of his preparations for the big game this weekend.
“Just making sure I’m on top of those finances and losing all this money,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who reportedly has a net worth of $30 million, joked.
The cost of the Super Bowl — and its VIP suites — has been a popular topic over the last few weeks as family members of players have been voicing how expensive this year’s game seems to be.
The mother of San Francisco 49ers player Christian McCaffrey said no one in her family could even afford to sit in a VIP suite because they cost millions of dollars.
“We looked into a suite, and none of us can afford it,” Lisa McCaffrey admitted on her “Your Mom” podcast. “Not even Christian, money bags over there — nor money bags Olivia [Culpo, his fiancée].
“So, we are not in a suite. I’ll tell you that right now,” she added.
Lisa revealed that she was able to “negotiate” a reserved area with eight tickets to watch her son and his team take on the Chiefs.
With astronomical pricing, Lisa said her NFL star son’s “best friends” would watch him play at a nearby bar and meet up with him later.

“Long story short, they are outrageously expensive. … I don’t know if it’s the Taylor Swift factor, I don’t know if it’s the first time in Vegas factor, there is just so much going on,” she explained.
Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce, also shared that she didn’t think she’d be sitting in a suite for the same reason.
“You can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multimillion dollars, so I have a feeling I’m not in a box,” Donna said on the “Today” show Wednesday.
“I have a feeling I’m in the stands, so far as I know I’m in the stands with everybody else because it is a pricey Super Bowl.”
Travis and Swift, both 34, have been dating since last summer.
