Scheana Shay maintains she didn’t turn to Ozempic to lose weight — and instead blames the anxiety from Scandoval.
“You know how many people have asked me if I’m on Ozempic lately?” Shay said to Lala Kent during the Season 11 premiere of “Vanderpump Rules” Tuesday.
“No, it’s called Scandoval.”
Although the Type 2 diabetes drug has become popular among celebrities to shed pounds, the reality star, 38, asserted that stress from her co-star Tom Sandoval’s affair with former cast member Rachel “Raquel” Leviss was to blame.
Over the summer, Shay admitted that she accidentally lost weight while finding herself being a support system for Ariana Madix, on whom Sandoval had cheated.
“Ever since I had [my 2-year-old daughter, Summer], I tried not to weigh myself all the time because I didn’t want to get fixated on the number,” she explained during an August episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast.
“And then the last two months of my life have just been insane; there’s been a lot going on that has affected my appetite and working out habits recently, so I lost more weight.”

Shay realized she had dropped to a number that wasn’t “healthy” and decided to “up the food and up the weights.”
The Bravolebrity also said she would “never” use Ozempic to lose weight — especially after giving birth.
“I wouldn’t do it. It is not for me,” she said. “I have other friends who — I don’t want to name names — who have made some jokes about it like, ‘Well, after my next baby I will just get on Ozempic.’ And I am like, ‘I don’t think that is what it’s there for?’”
Shay was close to Leviss, 29, Madix, 38, and Sandoval, 41, when news of the affair broke in March 2023. She since has severed ties with Leviss and Sandoval, though she continues to film with the latter.
