Gabrielle Union’s daughter is ready to follow in her mom’s fashionable footsteps.
Taking to her Instagram Story on Saturday, the “Bring it On” actress, 51, shared a sweet photo of her 5-year-old daughter, Kaavia James, dressed up in a black-and-white dress that resembled the one she wore to prom.
“@kaaviajames definitely wore it better,” she joked when posting a side-by-side collage, in which the toddler could be seen twinning with the star, who wore a similar ruffled design back in 1991.
While teenage Union had styled her own off-the-shoulder dress with drop earrings, a pearl necklace, and black gloves, Kaavia’s version of the look was simple yet glam.
She paired her dress with a large pair of gold earrings, and wore her hair up instead of copying her mom’s short bob.
Despite her young age, Kaavia has proven she doesn’t mind stealing the spotlight from her mom or dad, former NBA pro Dwyane Wade, 42.
While celebrating Wade’s birthday earlier this month, Kaavia took to the mic to sweetly sing her father “Happy Birthday” in front of a crowd of people.
Wearing a black pleather skirt and long-sleeve shirt printed with silver stars, she proved once again she’s a style icon in training.
Kaavia has even dabbled in the world of design, working with her parents to launch a Janie and Jack collaboration when she was just three years old.
“She’s had an obsession with our closets … the shoes and purses. It’s all about accessories in my closet and in Dwyane’s closet,” Union told Vanity Fair at the time. “She literally likes to climb into his racks of clothes.”
Of course, a love of style may run in her blood and Kaavia even has another fashion-forward family member to look up to: her sister, Zaya, whom Wade shares with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches.
Last year, the 16-year-old appeared as a model for Miu Miu’s fall/winter 2023 campaign and has a budding career in the fashion industry.
It’s safe to say we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for more of Kaavia’s cute outfits in the near future.
