She has no regrets eating snow with-her-spoon.
Reese Witherspoon defended herself after internet users ripped the actress for promoting a recipe made from snow she scooped off her car.
“There’s so many people on here saying that snow is dirty, so we went and took snow from the backyard, and we microwaved it, and it’s clear,” the “Morning Show” star, 47, said in a TikTok video Saturday, showing a mason jar filled with crystal-clear melted snow.
“Is this bad? Am I not supposed to eat snow?” she asked.
In a second video, Witherspoon said, “You only live once” and noted that she only eats the blizzardy treat when it “snows maybe once a year here.”
“Also, I want to say something: It was delicious,” she added. “It was so good!”
The “Legally Blonde” star shared that she grew up drinking tap water instead of filtered water and sometimes even drank from a hose.
“So what you’re saying to me is that I have to filter the snow before I eat?” she said with a laugh in another video. “I just can’t filter snow. I don’t know how to do that!”
Many supporters flooded the comments sections of the posts to stand by Witherspoon’s snow-eating ways, and some even made suggestions for future frozen recipes.
“The people saying snow is bad, have clearly never made snow ice cream!” one person exclaimed.
“Add peanut butter and call it Reese’s Winterspoon,” someone else wrote, to which the Oscar winner replied, “That’s genius.”
“I grew up making snow ice cream with vanilla extract and sugar, people are overdramatic in these comments, you’ll be fine lmao,” a third wrote.
“Snow, evaporated milk, sugar and vanilla extract makes a great snow cream base for all toppings!” another recommended.
“Been doing this for decades with snow ice cream, or snow and maple syrup. Safe if you don’t get it off the ground, only eaves and railing. Delicious!” a fan commented.
“As long as you don’t eat the yellow snow, you’re good!” another netizen quipped.
Witherspoon first raised eyebrows when she shared a TikTok video Friday in which she mixed fresh snowfall with chocolate syrup, salted caramel syrup and cold brew coffee.
“Oh my gosh, it’s so good.” she raved of the wintery concoction before adding that the drink should be called a “salted snowy cappuccino” or a “snow salt chococcino.”
Several critics commented on the post that eating snow can be unsanitary and dangerous.
“No no no.. snow is not made to eat.. u can get seriously sick,” one person wrote.
“Isn’t snow dirty??” a second person inquired.
Experts have had contrasting views regarding the safety of ingesting snow.
One 2016 study found that snow can absorb toxic substances that come from car exhaust.
However, researchers discovered a year later that freshly fallen snow is safe to eat in moderation.
