Christine Brown shared that she and ex Kody Brown were hardly having sex in the time leading up to their split.
“It was, like, five times in one year,” the “Sister Wives” alum told Heather McDonald in Tuesday’s “Juicy Scoop” podcast episode.
“There’s sex and then there’s intimacy. What we didn’t have was intimacy,” the 51-year-old explained.
“The intimacy itself had been gone for years.”
Christine, who split from Kody in November 2021, recalled how her ex once told her that they couldn’t continue having sex.
“He’s like, ‘We’re not going to have an intimate marriage anymore. We’re not going to have sex,’” she claimed.
It was then that she started “boxing up his stuff” and told the polygamist he couldn’t sleep in her bed anymore.
Christine and Kody got married in March 1994 and share six children: daughters Aspyn, Mykelti, Gwendlyn, Ysabel and Truely, as well as son Paedon.
The TV personality was one of four “spiritual” marriages Kody shared. He has since separated from his relationships with Janelle after nearly 30 years and Meri after 32 years. Kody and Robyn are still together.
As for Christine, she is now married to David Woolley. They tied the knot in October 2023.
“It’s a fairytale,” she told People at the time.
“I’ve never been in love like this before, and the world seems like a brighter place with him in it.”
Despite being in a relationship with Kody for more than 25 years, Christine said that their romance began to fall apart in 2020 after seeing how he treated their daughter Ysabel during her spinal surgery.
“The final thing for me was Ysabel’s surgery. [Kody] said to [Ysabel] … ‘I can’t leave my family for that long.’ Ysabel goes, ‘I thought we were family. I thought he was my dad.’ She was like, ‘What am I?’”
It was then that Christine realized they were “done.”
“I can’t be married to a guy who doesn’t consider us his family.”
