Vicki Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana Culberson, vehemently denied accusations that she and her husband Ryan used Ozempic to lose weight.
“There’s been some ridiculous chatter wandering around the interwebs today following a pic of us I shared earlier today. Some people have started a rumor that we’re on ozempic,” Culberson, 36, wrote on Instagram recently.
“First of all, hilarious. Second of all, I would NEVER,” she added. “That goes against everything we stand for and everything we’re doing for our health and wellness.”
Briana has lost more than 45 pounds since she and her husband started their Keto journey and the couple document their healthy lifestyle on social media.
“I spent too many years of my life being terribly sick. Too many years of not having any respect for my health. We had no rules with food or alcohol, it was a free for all of whatever we wanted in the moment. I was on a long list of medications, admitted to the hospital OFTEN, sick, fat, and miserable,” Briana continued.
The couple decided to make “many many lifestyle changes” over the past four years to improve their overall health and wellness.
“Clean eating, clean lifestyle, daily movement, daily choices, emotional healing, and targeted high-quality supplements and essential oils have completely changed our lives inside and out,” she said.
Briana — who revealed her lupus diagnosis during a 2016 episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” — added that the new health regimen wasn’t just for vanity’s sake.
“What’s more important to me are the changes on the inside,” she said. “My lupus is in remission, undetectable on labs or symptoms. I’m off all medications (with the exception of my thyroid replacement for my thyroidectomy). My health hasn’t been this good in over 20 years.”
She added that she didn’t turn to a “no magic pill” or an “easy fix.”
“It’s a lot of little daily choices and consistency that add up, “she said. “I’m a better mom, better wife, better friend, better person now that my health and wellness are a priority. No gimmicks, no nasty medication, just staying consistent and being intentional with my daily choices.”
She concluded her message by telling the haters, “You can take that ozempic chatter somewhere else because it ain’t here.”
Social media users accused Briana and Ryan of turning to the weight loss jab after she posted a photo of their slimmed-down selves on Instagram.
“Can anyone say Ozempic?” one critic commented on their post.
Ryan kept cool while responding to the hater, “You must me new here, welcome! There’s no shortcuts we were willing to change our lifestyle, will you?”
In 2020, Ryan and Briana shared that they lost a combined 150 pounds after turning to the keto diet two years prior. However, Briana ceased her Keto lifestyle after welcoming her daughter Cora in 2022.
“Cora and I are on a strict feeding schedule since she came a little early in a tiny package. Because there’s not a lot of research on keto and breastfeeding, our doctors have put me on a different eating plan until Cora gets bigger,” she reportedly shared. “I’m not at all worried about losing weight, I’m only worried about her gaining.”
Briana and Ryan, who also share sons Troy, 11, Owen, 9, and Hanks, 2, have been married since 2011.
