How ‘RHOSLC’ alum Jen Shah spent her 50th birthday in prison

Jen Shah had a “Shah-mazing” 50th birthday — even though she spent it in prison.

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” alum’s husband, Sharrieff Shah, took to his wife’s Instagram page Thursday to let fans know that she was “showered with love” and “comforted” on her “special day.”

“I contacted 50 of her family members and closest friends and asked them to write a birthday text or message to me, and I would give it to her,” Sharrieff, 52, explained in the selfie-style video, not revealing whether any of Jen’s former co-stars were among those enlisted.

Jen’s reaction to the notes was “more than [Sharrieff] could have ever imagined.”

He said the two spoke on the phone for 10 minutes and that she “cried and cried tears of joy and appreciation for at least six and a half minutes.”

Sharrieff took to Jen’s Instagram page to let fans know that she was “showered with love” and “comforted” on her “special day.”

“And all I kept saying was, ‘See, baby, we love you more than you think. You’ve not been forgotten,'” he shared.

Sharrieff then read portions of three of the letters his wife received.

One of his “dear friends” who “got to know [Jen] really, really well” wrote, “Focus on your highest good in everything you do. Maintain peace and harmony within your inner being, and [do] not allow outside circumstances to disturb your day of happiness. It is your 50th birthday. The numbers will change, but who you are deep inside will always remain the same: beautiful, limitless, wonderful, creative, strong and capable.”

The next message — which came from one of Jen’s “close health care providers who’s been with her for a number of years now” — read, “Time and distance does not diminish the space you have in my heart. I’m with you today and always. As birthdays are a celebration of spirit, I celebrate who you are: a beautiful human inside and out.”

Sharrieff also shared a note written by Jen’s sister, who encouraged the former Bravolebrity to “adjust [her] crown” and “keep on pressing on regardless of these stumbling blocks and hurdles that stand in [her] way.”

She added, “You got this, and I got you for life. I love you, and I’m so proud of you. Can’t wait to have the biggest birthday bash when you come home.”

Sharrieff — who is the special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach at the University of Utah — admitted that although he and Jen are “not where [he] thought they would be” on such a milestone occasion in her life, he can say “with complete conviction that [they] are exactly where God intended [them] to be.”

“So for that,” he made sure to add, “I’m humbled and continually grateful.”

The Shahs share two sons: Sharrieff Jr., 29, and Omar, 20.

Jen — who has “bonded” with fellow fraudster Elizabeth Holmes while serving time at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas — began her sentence in February.

Though Jen was originally ordered to spend the next six and a half years behind bars for running a decade-long, nationwide telemarketing scheme targeting the elderly and vulnerable, she had her sentence reduced by a year in March and is now expected to be released in August 2028.

In March 2021, as cameras rolled for “RHOSLC” Season 2, Jen was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Though she vehemently maintained her innocence, she ended up changing her plea to guilty in July 2022, at which point prosecutors dropped the conspiracy to commit money laundering charge.

As Pvnew exclusively reported, the ex-“Housewife” completed a mandatory anger management course in July.
