An “American Horror Story” indeed?
Fans of the FX horror anthology series slammed Kim Kardashian’s role as Siobhan after Season 12, “Delicate,” premiered on Wednesday.
“Kim sucks at acting. Why is she on this? Ruined it for me,” one Twitter user wrote.
“I’m not into Kim at all,” another agreed.
A third user referred to the 42-year-old reality star’s face as “surgery-ish,” noting, “idk if she’s happy or sad.”
However, many viewers expressed mixed feelings about Kardashian’s performance as a publicist, from “shock” at her skill to high praise.
“There wasn’t a lot of acting necessary,” one fan pointed out via Twitter. “She could draw from her real life experiences.”
Another went as far as to write that since “girl been doing reality TV for a decade, she can act,” while others described her as “slightly bad slightly good,” “one step closer to EGOT status” and “surprisingly decent.”
Kardashian and her siblings have yet to post about her role on the show since its first episode aired.
News broke in April that the Skims creator would join the cast alongside Emma Roberts and Cara Delevingne.
Not only did the casting decision leave many fans enraged, but award-winning actresses Patti LuPone and Sharon Stone spoke out against Kardashian at the time.
“I don’t [like it],” the Broadway icon, 74, said on “Watch What Happens Live,” agreeing with host Andy Cohen that the makeup mogul was “taking the role away from actors.”
As for the “Basic Instinct” actress, Stone, 65, wrote in an Instagram comment that artists should have “studied” and “suffered” to do the work that they “treasure.”
Kardashian ignored the critics while speaking to PvNew about the role — and her acting classes — on the Met Gala red carpet the following month.
“I’m so excited,” the “Kardashians” star said at the May event. “It’s really fun to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new and grow. … I like to challenge myself.”
Kardashian has acted before with minor roles in “Disaster Movie,” “Beyond the Break,” “CSI: NY” and “Temptations: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor,” among other projects over the years.
“American Horror Story: Delicate” airs on FX Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
