Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, has been sentenced to six months’ probation after pleading no contest to a simple battery charge.
Jackson, 23, appeared in court Thursday for his hearing via video conference. Following the sentencing, he was reportedly taken into the custody of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, which will determine whether he’s eligible for work release.
“Jackson is thankful for the support of his family and friends during the last year. Jackson pled no contest to a single count of simple battery and he was given six months of unsupervised probation,” his attorney Brandan Davies told People Friday.

“Jackson simply wanted the case to be over with and to move on with his life, the matter is now closed and we will not be issuing any further statements.”
Last May, Jackson was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one of battery after he was caught on security cameras at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kan., allegedly shoving a waiter and forcibly grabbing owner Aspen Vaughn by the neck to kiss her.
After the owner refused to cooperate with police in the investigation, the three sexual battery charges were dropped by prosecutors in January.

Vaughn told the Kansas City Star last year that the establishment where the alleged sexual assault took place has partially closed down due to the negative publicity surrounding the case.
Additionally, she also revealed that she received death threats and the restaurant had been vandalized.
Vaughn also told the outlet that Jackson was pals with her stepdaughter, who worked at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge. She claimed he went to the eatery’s basement office with friends and “forcibly kissed me out of nowhere.”
“And I’m telling him, pushing him off, saying, ‘What are you doing?’ and then he proceeded to do it two more times,” she told the Star.
“Where the last time I was pushing him off, and I can see on the cameras that somebody was outside the office door, and I was yelling for them to come help because he’s big and massive.”
Last May, Patrick, 28, refused to answer questions about his brother’s legal drama.
“Honestly, it’s kind of a personal thing that I just kind of gotta keep to myself,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback told reporters at the time.
“At the end of the day, I come here to play football and try to take care of my family at the same time. So just kind of keep it to myself and just go out there and play football when I’m in the building.”
