Gisele Bündchen is healing from more than just her divorce from Tom Brady.
While the supermodel was navigating the end of the pair’s 13-year marriage last fall, she was also dealing with two ailing parents.
“It’s been very tough on my family. It’s been a lot — in every area of my life,” she told People in an interview published Monday.
“I feel like whenever it rains, it pours. With all the different twists and turns that life takes, all we can do is the best we can given what happens in our surroundings.”
Bündchen — who formally left Brady in October 2022 following an “epic fight” over his shocking decision to “un-retire” from the NFL six months prior — did not elaborate on the status of her mother and father’s health.
But she said she got through those dark days by prioritizing exercise “every single day,” proper nutrition, meditation and time outdoors.
The 43-year-old Brazilian beauty — who was recently photographed looking absolutely jacked — told the magazine she likes to walk, do yoga and lift weights.
“I think if I didn’t have all the different tools that I have to support me during these times, it would’ve been very hard,” she admitted.
Part of Bündchen’s intake awareness included analyzing how alcohol was affecting her body and mind, so she made the decision to quit drinking.
“Right after I turned 40, actually, I felt a huge difference between when I had the glass of wine and when I didn’t have the glass of wine,” she explained.
“It’s socially accepted to have a glass of wine. And people even say, ‘Oh, it’s healthy for you.’ Well, it is not healthy for me. If you want to ask of your body what I ask of my body, which is a lot, I can’t be having all these things (alcohol, caffeine) because they add up.”

The mother of two said she became more “clear,” “sharp” and “present” when she stopped boozing two years ago and that she started “sleeping much better” and even began to “notice things [she] didn’t notice before.”
As for her daily mediations, Bündchen insisted that the practice allows her to take a step back and “observe” her emotions so she can “come in from a place where it’s not reactive, but it’s more proactive.”
Overall, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel is a big fan of self-care and rejects the idea that it makes people — especially women — “selfish.”
“When you feel good, you’re a better mom, you’re a better friend, you’re calmer, you’re more patient, you’re more loving, you’re more grounded,” she argued.
“No one is going to do it for you,” she made sure to note of putting effort into one’s needs.
“The only person that’s going to make those choices is you. Because ultimately, you’re the first person who’s going to be impacted by it. But then, it’s your children, it’s your husband, it’s your family. You got to put the oxygen mask on you first.”
In the spring of 2020, Bündchen and her then-husband, 46, uprooted their family and moved from New England to Tampa Bay, Fla., for Brady’s final seasons of football.
After they went their separate ways, she and their children — son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10 — settled down in Miami.
“I love the sunshine. Wherever the sun is, I feel like the happiest always,” she gushed of her new home.
“Just feeling the sun, just taking a dip in the ocean, just running on the sand and just feeling the grass on my feet. Just being in nature just gives you energy. It just makes you feel good.”
Of all her successes, the “Nourish” author is most proud of her “loving,” “thoughtful” and “considerate” kids, who are “becoming their own little individual selves” while maintaining “their principles and their values.”
Bündchen said Benny “just started” playing football and is sporting his dad’s famous No. 12, while Vivi joined the school swim team — even though she’s “obsessed” with becoming a professional horseback rider.
Though she recently scooped up a $9.1 million equestrian estate in South Florida, Bündchen told People she would not be granting her daughter’s wish of owning a second horse anytime soon.
“I’m like, ‘You’re 10, calm down,'” the model quipped.
Bündchen made sure to note that she’s remained close with Brady’s eldest child, 16-year-old son Jack, whose mother is Bridget Moynahan.
