Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness were still as thick as thieves just a year before their shocking split.
Pvnew spoke to the Australian actress, 67, at the Broadway opening of “The Music Man” starring Jackman, 54, in February 2022 and asked whether she and the Tony winner practiced lines together.
“Yeah, we do everything together,” she happily replied at the time, noting that there was “nothing” Jackman — who famously has a nice guy image — does that’s irritating.
When we cheekily tried to goad her, asking whether the actor perhaps left kitchen cabinet doors open or dirty underwear strewn across the floor, she laughed and quipped, “No, I do!”
The longtime couple stunned fans Friday when they announced their separation after 27 years of marriage.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” they said in a joint statement. “Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
“Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness,” the pair continued.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
Jackman and Furness also said it would be their “sole statement” on the news.
Just five months prior, the “Wolverine” star raved about Furness on Instagram.
“I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 years! I love you so much,” he wrote on April 11.
“Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart.”
The two met while co-starring in the 1995 Australian miniseries “Correlli.”
Furness was already an established actor, having shot over a dozen movies, while Jackman was largely unknown.
“I knew two weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives,” the “Greatest Showman” star said on “Sunday Today” in 2018.
The couple married in 1996 and adopted two children together: Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.
They were last snapped together in July at the Wimbledon men’s finals.
