Tiffany Haddish is obsessed with Shakira.
A video has surfaced of the comedian chasing down the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer backstage at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday.
The Instagram account Now Wut shared the footage of Haddish screaming Shakira’s name at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, while the evening’s Video Vanguard Award recipient seemingly tried to escape.
After snapping a few selfies with fans, Shakira, 46, made a beeline out of the room without acknowledging 43-year-old Haddish’s loud cries.
“Second hand embarrassment,” one social media user wrote in response to the clip that many dubbed “cringe,” while a second person commented, “Not shakira pretending she’s not hearing, she didn’t even turn her head, I know she was pissed.”
Another chimed in, “tiffany was acting annoying the entire vmas and the way shakira didn’t even turn her head ITS EMBARRASSING REALLY,” while someone else joked, “Bruh so annoying I would’ve ran too.”
Earlier in the night, Haddish repeatedly attempted to photobomb Shakira on the red carpet.
“Tiffany Haddish was being so f–king annoying looking for attention,” one person wrote, while another suggested, “Shakira seems to be the only one who didn’t forget about Tiffany Haddish’s nasty controversy around her.”
An additional internet user even went so far as to say Haddish “couldn’t be trusted” with Shakira’s sons, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, “around.”
Last September, the “Girls Trip” star and fellow comic Aries Spears were accused of grooming, molesting and coercing a pair of siblings to film sexually explicit skits when the kids were 14 and 7 years old.
According to court documents, which Pvnew obtained at the time, Haddish allegedly taught the girl — who was 22 when she filed the lawsuit — how to mimic fellatio for a sketch about children arguing over a sub sandwich.
The young girl’s brother, who was 14 at the time of the suit, further claimed he had been molested by both comedians while filming a disturbing skit titled “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes.”
Haddish and Spears, 48, vehemently denied the claims, and the suit was eventually dismissed.
The “Night School” star thanked the universe for cleaning up the “mess” in her life in the wake of the dismissal.
“God has been redecorating my life lately and I must say at 1st I was very uncomfortable,” she tweeted.
“But I see where he is going with it and I am so much better off. Thank You God! You are the best at getting rid of the mess. ( and when I say mess you know who and what I mean God) Amen.”
