Taylor Swift swept the MTV VMAs 2023 Tuesday night, taking home nine of the coveted Moon Person awards, including Video, Song and Artist of the Year.
The superstar, 33, took the stage at New Jersey’s Prudential Center throughout the night to claim her awards for the hit song “Anti-Hero.”
Along with the three top awards, she won Best Pop and Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Show of the Summer and Album of the Year for “Midnights.”
She was nominated for 11 total awards, losing out on Best Editing and Song of the Summer.
She thanked her team multiple times, bringing them onstage with her to share the spotlight. She also gave a shoutout to her longtime writing partner Jack Antonoff, who was not in attendance.
The “Karma” singer even made history as the first person to win Video of the Year four times, previously winning for “All Too Well: The Short Film,” “Bad Blood” and “You Need to Calm Down.”
Swift’s VMAs appearance comes weeks after she referenced Kanye West’s infamous 2009 interruption of her acceptance speech for Best Female Video trophy for “You Belong With Me.”
The “Cruel Summer” singer took aim at the rapper, 46, during the “Evermore” set of her fourth Eras Tour show at Mexico City’s Foro Sol stadium on Aug. 27.
“It’s the best way to be interrupted, by the way, just people chanting your name,” Swift told the crowd after her voice was temporarily drowned out by thunderous applause and ear-shattering screams.

“It’s really the only way to be interrupted,” she added. “And I would know.”
During the infamous moment back in 2009, West grabbed the mic from Swift’s hands to declare that Beyoncé should have won the award instead.
“Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’mma let you finish. But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!” West said at the time of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” clip.
When Beyoncé won later on in the evening, she invited Swift onstage to “have her moment.”
Swift has had many VMAs moments — and wins — since. She has a whopping 14 Moon Person statuettes to her name, trailing only behind Madonna, who has 20.
Swift could beat the Queen of Pop if she wins at least six of her eight categories during tonight’s ceremony.
This year, Swift is nominated for Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Visual Effects and Best Editing, all for her 2022 single “Anti-Hero.”
