“Real Housewives of New York City” star Sai De Silva revealed that her pal Ubah Hassan is responsible for her feud with castmate Brynn Whitfield.
“Ubah’s the catalyst,” De Silva, 42, said during Pvnew’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” live podcast taping at Chelsea Table & Stage in New York City on Thursday.
“I think what happened is because of Ubah,” she continued with a smile, gesturing toward Hassan, 40, who also participated in the event. “No one saw that coming, did they?”
De Silva joked she is constantly “taking it for the team,” suggesting that her involvement in the Season 14 drama isn’t always her fault: “I’m telling you!”
A blushing Hassan seemed to confirm that she was in fact guilty of stirring the pot between De Silva and Whitfield, 36.
“I texted Sai, ‘Thank you for taking it for the team.’ She’s like, ‘You are the f—king team!’” the model said, to which her fashion influencer friend replied, “I’m always taking it for Ubah around here.”
De Silva and Whitfield — who currently are not on speaking terms — hit a rough patch after the latter broke the former’s trust by allegedly sharing a secret on camera.
In a recent interview with Pvnew for our “24 Hours” video series, De Silva said she was “disappointed” in Whitfield for purportedly spilling the beans about a situation she had not planned to disclose on the show.
“We had a bit of tension toward the end of filming, and there were just some things that I kind of told her that I wish she wouldn’t have said,” De Silva told us last month.
“And I’m such a girl’s girl; I’m very loyal. I shouldn’t have said it to her in the first place.”
De Silva emphasized that the information in question “wasn’t something that was overly big,” but she still regrets confiding in Whitfield.
“I shouldn’t have shared it,” she said. “And when I did, it felt like a circle of trust at that moment, and she kind of broke that circle of trust, and I was very disappointed.”
In the “RHONY” mid-season trailer, De Silva explodes at Whitfield over the apparent snafu.
“Sai told me,” Whitfield says in the sneak peek, released by Bravo on Aug. 23, referencing the unknown details.
Next, De Silva — surrounded by Whitfield and cast members Hassan, Erin Lichy and Jessel Taank — exclaims, “That is f—ked up!”
Whitfield responds by alleging that De Silva “said it on camera,” justifying why she spoke about it on “New York City.”
But De Silva strongly disagrees: “It was not on f—king camera!” she loudly declares in the preview.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
