Ellie Goulding and her husband, Caspar Jopling, have announced their separation after four years of marriage.
“In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago,” the “Lights” singer, 37, wrote on her Instagram Story Friday.
“We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our sons (sic) best interests at heart,” she continued.

“We are committed to protecting our family privacy and thank people in advance for respecting our wishes – we won’t be commenting further. Thank you.”
The pair share a 2-year-old son named Arthur.
Jopling, a 32-year-old art dealer, also shared a statement on his Instagram Story confirming their breakup news.
“I feel (sadly) that I need to say something on mine and Ellie’s current relationship, that I hope more than anything will make any final tabloid speculation disappear,” he began. “Ellie and I made the decision to separate some time ago.”
He went on, “Our immediate family and close friends have known for some time – otherwise we chose to do what we could to keep this private.”
“Ellie and I remain the closest of friends and, most importantly, ‘co-parents’ to the best kiddo in the world, Arthur. This is the last I want to say on this – and please ask that you respect mine and Ellie’s privacy.”
Their statements came after Goulding was seen getting cozy with Costa Rican surf instructor Armando Perez in his home country this week.
“When Armando wasn’t teaching Ellie, he couldn’t keep his hands off her and pulled her in for a hug and a kiss,” an insider told the Sun Thursday of their beach trip.
“Ellie looked blissfully happy and was laughing and joking with him as they messed around in the sea.”
Meanwhile, Jopling was spotted without his wedding band on a solo stroll in London this week, the outlet reported.
He and the British pop star tied the knot in August 2019 after getting engaged a year prior. They welcomed their son in May 2021.
The pair reportedly began living separately at the beginning of 2023.
