Say it isn’t so, Joe.
Joe Jonas was “less than supportive” of his now-estranged wife, Sophie Turner, when she was struggling after giving birth to their second child last year, according to a new report.
Sources told TMZ Thursday that the Jonas Brothers member allegedly pressured the “Game of Thrones” star to attend industry events and get out of the house more despite her not wanting to be photographed.
Although she preferred to stay home with their two daughters, Turner put on a brave face and went to numerous events with her husband; however, sources told TMZ that Turner had “made it clear she was uncomfortable” and “didn’t want to be there.”
At a separate event that Turner didn’t attend, the “Hesitate” crooner allegedly complained that his wife needed to get out more, prompting those around him to suspect that their marriage had hit a rough patch.
Jonas’ rep declined to comment on the report.
Reps for the estranged couple didn’t immediately return Pvnew’s requests for comment.
Jonas, 34, filed for divorce from the “Do Revenge” actress, 27, on Tuesday after four years of marriage, stating in court documents that their union was “irretrievably broken.”
What you need to know about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's split
Joe Jonas filed for divorce from wife Sophie Turner on Sept. 5, 2023, after four years of marriage.
The couple have two children together.
A source claims the pair had “many disagreements,” and the divorce was a “last resort” for Jonas.
Jonas is seeking “shared parental responsibility” with his estranged wife.
The children are said to live primarily with Jonas, and the singer is said to be caring for them “pretty much all the time.”
Turner’s penchant for partying is believed to have factored into the split, and a source said the pair have “very different lifestyles.”
Turner is suing Jonas to return their two daughters to England.
The actress claims she found out her estranged husband filed for divorce “through the media.“
Jonas blasted the lawsuit, saying it goes against an “amicable co-parenting setup.”
In a joint statement, the musician and the actress called their split a “united decision.”
“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,” they wrote in a post to Instagram.
“There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
Following their shocking divorce news, a source close to the family told Pvnew exclusively that the split was a “last resort” for Jonas.
“He never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls,” the insider said.
“An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year. There’s a lot of noise out there, but it wasn’t a straw-that-broke-the-camel’s-back situation like it’s being reported.”
A source also claimed to TMZ that Turner’s penchant for partying played a role in their relationship’s demise, but Jonas himself said months earlier that she was more of a homebody than he was.
The final straw, however, reportedly was compromising footage of Turner on their Ring security camera.
The specific details of what was on the video are unknown.
