Bethenny Frankel is blasting Joe Jonas for allegedly “spinning” his and Sophie Turner’s divorce.
“It seems like his team decided to … kill or be killed,” the “Real Housewives of New York City” alum said in a TikTok Wednesday. “His PR team definitely said, ‘We know this is coming, and we’ve got to spin this thing. We’ve got to go and try to control the ocean.’
“You cannot mess around with the media. The media is the ocean,” the Bravolebrity, 52, continued. “It will just take you over like a big wave. You can’t try to mess around with the ocean.”
Frankel went on to claim that the alleged tactic is “backfiring,” referencing backlash over headlines about Turner’s partying and compromising Ring camera footage.
“Do not underestimate the intelligence and instincts of women,” she said. “It sounds like a camp started camping too soon.”
Joe Jonas’ rep has yet to respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.
We confirmed over the weekend that the “Game of Thrones” alum, 27, and Jonas, 34, were heading for divorce.
What you need to know about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's split
Joe Jonas filed for divorce from wife Sophie Turner on Sept. 5, 2023, after four years of marriage.
The couple have two children together.
A source claims the pair had “many disagreements,” and the divorce was a “last resort” for Jonas.
Jonas is seeking “shared parental responsibility” with his estranged wife.
The children are said to live primarily with Jonas, and the singer is said to be caring for them “pretty much all the time.”
Turner’s penchant for partying is believed to have factored into the split, and a source said the pair have “very different lifestyles.”
Turner is suing Jonas to return their two daughters to England.
The actress claims she found out her estranged husband filed for divorce “through the media.“
Jonas blasted the lawsuit, saying it goes against an “amicable co-parenting setup.”
Two days later, the Jonas Brothers frontman filed for divorce in Miami, stating that his marriage of four years was “irretrievably broken.”
A source told us Tuesday that the decision was a “last resort” for Jonas.
“He never wanted to break up his family,” the insider alleged. “An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year.”
TMZ reported that Turner’s partying was a factor in the couple’s split, with photos subsequently going viral of the actress downing shots at a bar days before news of their breakup.
DropShot bar manager Herzog Stephenson told the Daily Mail Thursday that the “Dark Phoenix” star appeared “happy and relaxed” during the night out.
“It was obvious when I was with Sophie that she wanted to return to her days of partying,” he claimed. “I sensed that she was missing those times.”
People reported that the estranged couple’s two young daughters have been living with their dad as he, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas travel for their Five Albums, One Night world tour. Joe was photographed eating out with the girls on Wednesday — sans wedding ring.
Turner, for her part, is believed to be filming a project in England.
Fans have stood up for the working mom, with one tweeting, “It’s wrong to shame a woman and try to paint her as a bad mother for simply having a career.”
Another social media user pointed out, “Seems like bare minimum that he should be watching the kids while she’s working.”
Turner married the DNCE member in May 2019, welcoming their baby girls in July 2020 and July 2022, respectively.
