Cynthia Bailey is going back to the ’70s in her latest magazine shoot.
Pvnew has the exclusive first look at the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum’s fashion spread for the September issue of Mr. Warburton Magazine.
The photoshoot — inspired by Diana Ross’ 1975 hit film “Mahogany” — showed Bailey all dolled up in a series of show-stopping gowns while posing around Downtown Los Angeles.
For one cover, the TV personality and actress wore a white wool crepe suit blazer from Rebecca Crews paired with a shiny black tie by Charles & Ron.
In the second glamorous cover, Bailey dramatically posed with her hands in the air as she modeled a fuchsia pink maxi dress from OTT Dubai while flashing a little leg in Gianvito Rossi heels.
Her other looks included head-turning ensembles from designers Tadashi, Adiba and Alice and Olivia, with dazzling accessories by Swarovski and Sheila B. Jewelry.
The former runway model, 56, wore neutral makeup and a slicked-back hairstyle to showcase her natural essence.
“I wanted to show Cynthia in a different way. No wigs, just character,” editor-in-chief Derek Warburton said. “I have been friends with Cynthia half of my life and this is the first time she has posed for one of my magazines.”
“I feel the world has a specific view of her, but I see so much more,” he continued. “She is a chameleon, and at 56 years old, Hollywood isn’t gonna know what hit them when she gets the right role.”
Speaking about the photoshoot, Bailey described the freedom she felt after “taking hair out of the equation” and “just stripping [herself] down to Cynthia.”
“I think that’s just so important to just see me, especially as an actress,” she explained. “What do I look like when you take all the things away?”
“Wearing 30 different wigs wasn’t going to be anything different from the things I’ve already shown,” Bailey added.
The former Bravolebrity also reflected on paying tribute to the legendary Ross, 79, with her timeless looks.
“One of the other things I loved about the shoot as well is going back to the character we were trying to create,” she said. “The theme for me in my mind was ‘Mahogany.'”
“We listened to the ‘Dreamgirls’ soundtrack the entire shoot, OK. And it just really set the tone and the pace. Although I didn’t have to be exactly like Diana Ross, it was that spirit of ‘Mahogany.'”
Bailey also described her budding acting career as her third reinvention since she has previously conquered the worlds of reality television and modeling.
She explained that she’s “just getting started” again following her split from ex-husband Mike Hill.
“I am happy, sad,” Bailey said. “I am sad that my marriage didn’t work out. But I am happy that my ex and I moved on, and we both have a chance to find our people now. Find our person.”
The former couple — who wed in October 2020 — called it quits two years later ahead of their second wedding anniversary.
Their divorce was finalized in December 2022. Court documents obtained by Pvnew at the time noted that Hill “acknowledges the marriage is irretrievably broken.”
The documents also stated that both agreed there was “no chance of reconciliation.”
Bailey was previously married to Peter Thomas. The pair’s wedding aired during Season 3 of “RHOA,” but they later parted ways in 2016.
