Prince Harry seemingly gave weight to the rumor that his friendship with David Beckham is over after he awkwardly sped past the soccer player’s eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
In a video posted to Twitter, the Duke of Sussex was quickly escorted by his bodyguards right past the aspiring chef and his wife, Nicola Peltz, while at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles Sunday night.
Harry was en route to his $9,000-a-night VIP suite to view the Los Angeles Football Club play against Inter Miami — notably co-owned by David.
At one point, the “Spare” author glanced over at Brooklyn and Peltz but didn’t appear to give any acknowledgment to his suspected former friend’s son.
While Harry shot eyes towards the couple, Brooklyn, 24, and the “Bates Motel” star, 28, didn’t appear to meet the royal’s gaze.
It is unclear if both parties spotted each other in the hallway and actively chose to not engage or if this was a matter of the groups simply not realizing they were crossing paths.
Regardless of which scenario might have been the case, the seemingly awkward close encounter didn’t help dispel rumors of trouble inside Harry, 38, and wife Meghan Markle’s close inner circle.
Last month, Harry and the “Suits” alum’s long-term friendship with David, 48, and his wife, Victoria Beckham, was reportedly ended by the royal couple last month.
A source told the Daily Mail in July that the former soccer star was “absolutely bloody furious” at Harry and Markle after the couple accused the Beckhams of leaking stories about them to the press.
“Any making up now is so unlikely,” the insider added, sharing that the Sussexes made the accusations over a very tense phone call.
The friendship between the two couples goes back years, as the Beckhams were even present at the royal duo’s 2018 UK wedding.
“David and Victoria went to Meghan and Harry’s wedding and were very supportive when Meghan arrived in the UK,” the source told the outlet.
In 2020, a similar story made headlines after a source told the Sun that the Invictus Games founder had confronted the Beckhams “head-on” over concerns that the former Spice Girl, 49, had been leaking stories to the press about Markle, 42, prior to their wedding.
The confrontation, according to the insider, had “made things awkward for a while” between the four and resulted in a “cooling of relations.”
Neither couple has confirmed nor denied any drama between the families.
Whether the feud is ongoing or not, Harry was grinning ear to ear as he cheered on Lionel Messi, who plays for David’s team, from his cozy VIP suite.
