Kate Middleton has left Windsor Castle for the first time since undergoing a planned abdominal surgery in January.

According to People, the Princess of Wales will spend time with her family at her and Prince William’s home on the Sandringham Estate, known as Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.

Their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, will be joining them while on a break from school, according to the outlet.

The Daily Mail also reported that Middleton, 42, left Windsor and is “recovering well.”

“She was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William,” the outlet’s source added.

Kensington Palace announced on Jan. 17 that Middleton underwent a “successful” abdominal surgery and would remain hospitalized for between 10 and 14 days.

Although it was a planned surgery, Middleton and Prince William, 41, reportedly kept their closest family and advisers in the dark about it in an attempt to keep the matter private.

In a Jan. 29 update, Kensington Palace announced that she had been discharged and was “making good progress.”

She left the London Clinic at the same time as her father-in-law, King Charles III, who was admitted to the same hospital to seek treatment for a benign enlarged prostate.

During the surgery, it was discovered that the 75-year-old royal has cancer, which Buckingham Palace announced Monday.

“He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible,” the announcement noted, keeping a positive nature about the diagnosis.

It’s not yet clear what type of cancer was found.

The discovery will postpone King Charles’ public-facing obligations, but it’s not known for how long.

The Princess of Wales is not expected to return to her regular royal duties until after Easter, but a royal insider claimed to the Daily Express UK on Feb. 1 that she already began working “from her bed” at Adelaide Cottage at the Windsor estate.
